Compressor/Lubricant Testing

ICE 32 choose four of the most popular compressors and ran side-by-side tests using compressors with the OE recommended lubricant and the same units with ICE 32 added to the lubricant. At the end of the test period each compressor was disassembled and the wear points carefully inspected, measured and recorded. In each case the compressor with ICE 32 showed significantly less wear than the compressor without ICE 32. The five compressors are listed here. For detailed information on the results just click on each compressor.

Inspection was done with S. E. M. – Scanning Electron Microscope and E. D. S. – Energy Dispersive Spectrometer.

This equipment magnifies a surface up to 2500 X to illustrate wear and surface deterioration.  It also analyzes the surface being scanned to determine the elements present.

Metal wear and surface contamination can be easily identified and compared on components from different systems. The inspections were done by Anderson and Associates, Inc., Houston, Texas, - Metallurgy and Testing Laboratories
